Liquid Pope Memorabilia

During the bands early days we went out of way to find new ways to build up a following on the scene.. we didn’t really have anything other than a blistering 50 minute set.. and a hand full of fans.. and those were mostly close friends and the random drunks we ran across while playing live.

If i hadn’t been working in a rehearsal studio, most of the cool gigs we got, the free recording time and production help from Rich West, and others would never have happened!!!!!

Liquid Pope Memorabilla

So with a little bit of creativity on the bands part, some hustling by Tony and me we managed to get a fat 4 song demo, a fanzine, and some stickers and buttons to pass out at gigs.. we had actually had some condoms with the Liquid Pope logo on them too! i don’t know how we got them but they were popular at our gigs.. i am thinking that because they were free condoms that was the real reason the small supply we had disappeared so fast!!!!

The coolest thing the band did for promotions was to come up with a nifty little fanzine, which was created on Rich West’s old Mac Macintosh… i typed out the text and we did an old fashioned newspaper paste up master that we took to Kinko’s in Belmont Shore in the early morning.. Tony & I looked like we had been up all night smoking crack as we scurried inside with red eyes, disheveled clothes, and looking not too good….

Here is a scanned copy (Click here) of the Fanzine that Marty had gave me… her & Tony are the only ones who actually still have the demo tapes, our video and other stuff from those day…..My collection was lost while still on my 20+ year mission.

Who knows where the band might have gone had i stayed around.. It was fun while it lasted though!

Enjoy!!!!!
